Review: The Escape of Princess Madeline & The Battle for Princess Madeline by Kirstin Pulioff

My Review

The Escape of Princess Madeline and The Battle for Princess Madeline by Kirstin Pulioff creates a beautifully enchanting and delightfully touching story of a princess who quickly goes from being a spoiled girl to an amazing woman. We watch this transformation unravel before our eyes with such mystery, passion, and pain. The Escape of Princess Madeline and The Battle for Princess Madeline contain a collection of wonderful themes and lessons throughout both books. The pursuit of true love at all costs, learning the value of wisdom and truth, and opening our eyes to those around us instead of focusing only on ourselves are just a few of the precious threads flowing throughout this incredibly adventurous and deeply heartbreaking story.

Princess Madeline embarks on this journey in order to avoid the impending commitments that are a part of her life as a princess. She attempts to remake her life into one of her own choosing, but we all know what happens when we try to force things that aren’t meant to be. We end up coming back to where we first started, and we find that Madeline is no different in this regard. However, this turn of events starts her on a path that only she can travel. While she gets help from those around her, it is ultimately she that decides the future of her people and her own life. Will she rise to the challenges ahead, or will she go running to her room in order to hide under her covers?

I didn’t know what to expect when I first started reading The Escape of Princess Madeline, but by the time I was finished, I was completely lost in this wondrously magnificent world of Princess Madeline. After reading The Battle for Princess Madeline, I cannot wait until the next book is released. Kirstin Pulioff is such a talented writer who paints a melodic, picturesque kingdom filled with magic, love, and hope amid impending crisis and deep pain. I am impatient to reenter Pulioff’s realm and find out what happens next to Princess Madeline. I hope that you will join me.
